SUMMARY:Hawaii Premiere: A Droplet in the Galaxy-All from One
DESCRIPTION:They say that the people of Nepal\, who live in the Himalayas\, know the “Secret of the Universe”. This is a documentary film of my journey through Nepal in 2016. The purpose of my trip was to meet Geeta\, who had been my guide when I first visited the country back in 2005\, and to reclaim the special feeling that I experi-enced then. I had been profoundly moved by the way of life of the Nepalese people and dreamed about re-visiting this special place. How can they accept me so warmly: a foreign woman\, upon our first meeting?   -Director of the film\, Katsuko Yamamoto-

SUMMARY:Hawaii Premiere Canta! Timor with the Director Natsuko Hiroko
DESCRIPTION:“Canta! Timor” was filmed in East Timor\, just after its independence. The story begins with a piece of music\, and through a journey of a Japanese woman\, it tells how the Timorese kept their music and forgave their enemies in order to obtain independence\, in a cruel situation during 24 years of the military attack. Simple but beautiful songs are impressive\, that leads the entire story. Including valuable interviews of the local people\, guerrillas\, and the first president Xanana Gusmao.

SUMMARY:Documentary Film Gaia Symphony No3
DESCRIPTION:— The “Gaia Symphony” documentary film series—the first section of which was released in Japan in 1992—delivers the message that planet earth is a living organism and we humans are given lives as part of that organism.  This strong message captivated the hearts of many viewers who were interested in environmental protection as well as the relationship between the earth and people\, and eventually led to the production of a total of six films to date.  Films in the “Gaia Symphony” series have been presented in many places\, both inside and outside Japan solely on a non-profit basis.  Indeed\, the series is a hidden\, enduring hit that has not resorted to commercial distribution. \nSince 200 of the 270 total available tickets were sold immediately after sales started\, with many more people expressing an interest\, the Friends decided to hold a second screening on Sunday\, October 28 at 2 pm in Spalding Auditorium at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa.
