The Honolulu Foundation announced today that the celebrated Japanese documentary film, “Gaia Symphony No. 3,” will be shown at the Doris Duke Theatre, Honolulu Academy of Arts, on Saturday, October 27at 2 pm.
The “Gaia Symphony” documentary film series was created by Japanese director, Jin Tatsumura, inspired by the idea that the Earth is a living organism which has its own mind and that we humans take an active role in realizing the Earth’s intentions.
The film looks at connections between the peoples of the Pacific, in Alaska, Hawai‘i, and northern Japan, from ancient times through the present day, through the stories and music of those peoples, and images of the vast ocean.
